Rivers State Based Blogger Called On Governor Wike To Find A Solution To The Soot Epidemic Without Hestitation

Rivers State based blogger and the principal of profjaysblog.com has called on Governor Nyesom Wike to tackle the soot epidemic killing people in the state without hesitation.

It has been reported that the people of Rivers State are dying in their numbers due to the negligence and the inability of the State and Federal Government to tackle the soot issue that is currently disturbing the state and it environs.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has in a recent time called on the Federal Government to intervene in the current epidemic currently killing the people of the state day by day. The soot which was discovered to have been as a result of carbon deposition from illegal refineries operated in the state and across by some people have been a thing of worries to the citizens and residents of the state as people are said to be dying on daily basis and investors leaving the state due to the inconduciveness of the environment.

The people of the state sometimes in April, 2018 called out the Governor, Nyesom Wike in a rally to intervene and find a lasting solution to the soot killing people daily. Rather than tackling the soot issue from the health angle, both the state and the federal government are busy doing a blame game on who’s responsibility It is to tackle the soot menace in the state.

We wish to rather tell both the federal government and the state government to put aside politics and tackle the menace currently disturbing the health conditions of the citizens and the residents of the state as it is their responsibility to see to the welfare and wellbeing of her citizens without politicizing the health status of the masses.

We hereby ask the government to put all apparatus in place to curb this menace and discharge their duties and protect the citizens which they have sworn to protect.

We are also calling on all concerned citizens living Rivers State and outside Rivers State to help curb and manage this menace killing the masses on daily basis.

We must stop the soot before the soot stops us from living. #StopTheSoot
