The abia state commissioner of police has asked all abians to be law abiding citizens during and after APC congress in the state. He stated that during a press briefing with our correspondent in the state.
The Abia State commissioner of Police Mr. Anthony Ogbizi has on Thursday briefed the newsmen in Umuahia at the police command headquarters about the series of ugly incidents which has trailed in the conduct of the ongoing APC Congress in some states.
He state However, in line with the inspector General of Police (IGP) vision and commitment to deliver responsible policing, irrespective of their socia- economic and political status to create a safe environment.
The IGP also in his plea to the commissioner stated that a good level playing ground should be created for all political actors involved in our Democratic dispensation to pursue their interests or aspirations in a peaceful manner. However, on that note,it has become imperative to assure the citizens of resolved of Abia state police command to maintain law and order for a peaceful Congress to hold.
Ogbizi therefore, expressed his total loyalty to the inspector general of police who deployed him to the state to maintain law and order, also identity with the IGP’s determination to enforce law and order without any fear or favor.
Consequently, Mr. Ogbizi advised all political actors in the state, irrespective of their social and political status who are not accredited for the Congress election to stay clear the voting Arenas.
More so, the police boss also warned against procuring sponsors, aiding or financing thugs to disrupt voting processes, cause a breach of peace or engage in any act prejudicing to the security of lives and property that the police will not hesitates to invoke appropriate Provisions of the law, including application of the rules of engagement where appropriate or necessary to deal decisively with anyone in such unprovoked act.
