A woman has been sent to Port Harcourt Prison for bathing her house help with hot water. The woman was arraigned in court and has been remanded in Port Harcourt prison custody till July 19th for consideration of bail.
According to profjaysblog, the girl who was drenched by the rain on Wednesday and later became cold, decided to sleep on the couch in the sitting room as against the floor which her Aunt always ask her to sleep. Her Aunt woke up at about 2am to discovered the girl was sleeping on the couch and gently went into the kitchen, boiled water and poured it on the little girl’s body, then brought out belt to flog her.
Profjaysblog learnt that the girl went to school the next day with the wound without any medication and started having fever while in class. Her class teacher asked her what was wrong, she tried to cover up for fear of not being beaten by her Aunt if she finds out she was reported in school. Her school teacher pulled up her cloth after much persuasion only to discover the wound on her body as a result of the hot water and the flogging. The Aunt (madam) was later reported and arrested for child abuse.
