Galaxy 360 Media set to hold its first maiden edition of Galaxy Music Awards (GMA) 2018 in the city of Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

May we introduce to you, Galaxy Music Awards (GMA) 2018, organized by Galaxy 360 Media, a fully integrated service company in Entertainment, Video/Film production, Advertising, Event management, Magazine production, event coverage, Musical Production ,Online Television and other media affairs with our headquarters here in Rivers State.
The Galaxy Music Awards (GMA) Awards 2018 is tagged “This is Port Harcourt ” this award has been consciously crafted to promote and encourage the music industry at large and this edition focuses on Port- Harcourt artists and biggest musical exports from the garden city. The prestigious Music Awards would be an annual awards organized to celebrate, promote and recognize music excellence in Port Harcourt, Nigeria and rest of Africa.
We created this platform to encourage the new and creative generation fast rising in the music industry, and significantly Port Harcourt has no strong platform encouraging theses super stars to do more unlike what is obtainable in the west. This event is proudly put together by Galaxy360 Media, one of the leading media brand in Port Harcourt
Our Vision is to foster Communism and love amongst artists, and produce galaxy of stars in Africa and beyond Here by taking Port Harcourt Artistes to the world!
Eligibility
To be considered eligible, an artist must have had active performance and/or released audio or video music content within 24 months prior to December of any year. And must have Port Harcourt roots either by birth or by verified resident status.

Nomination

The Nomination process has been segmented into 3 groups, the first groups are the radio stations, they play 50 percent role in the nomination process, reason is they air theses songs and they get instant feedback from the audience. The second groups are the Music Bloggers they play 30 percent role in the Nomination process and Finally the Dj’s play 20 percent role in the nomination
Voting and Winning

For some selected categories, the Music Assembly vote contributes 50% and the fans vote 50%. Whereas for rest of the categories, through voting, The Fan Decide 100% the winners of the prestigious Galaxy Music Awards. Once nominations are complete, the public votes via the official GMA Online platform, text (SMS), and social media where applicable.

Categories

Recording of year: A non -voting category for the best recording (that meets the judges requirement of Excellence, song writing, production and rendition) by an artist or group in the year under review

Best Pop Single: a category for the best pop single for the year under review (by single individual or group )
Producer of the Year: An Individual responsible for producing the most acclaimed song or album in the year under review

Best Reggae / Dance hall single: A category for the best reggae or dance hall single in the year under review ( by single individual or group)

Best Music Video: A voting category for the best conceptualist, best directed and most exiting video in the year under review , this award goes to the video director

Best R&B single: A category for the best R&B single for the year under review ( By single individual or group)

Best Collaboration: A category for the best R&B , pop or hip- hop, collaborative tracks ( including cameos )

Best Rap Single: A category for best for the best single (released on air) recording of a rap song

Best Vocal Performance male : A non- voting category for the single male artist with the most outstanding vocal performance on a single song or album

Best Vocal Performance Female: A non- voting category for the single female artist with the most outstanding vocal performance on a single song or album

Next Rated: This category is for the most promising act of the year under review

Lyricist On the roll: A non- voting category for the rap artiste with the best lyrical depth and performance on a single song or album

Best Alternative song: A voting category for the artiste whose song reflects any form or style of music which falls outside the main stream of recent or past musical trend

Best Gospel: A voting category for the best gospel song of the year.

Artist of the Year: The most critically and commercially adjudged artiste in the year under review. overall most successful artiste in the year under review
Most Relevant: A voting category for internationally acclaimed Port Harcourt Exports.

Song of the year: A voting category for the most popular song in the year under review

Rookie of the year: A voting category for the rookie who has had a successful year musically with the absence of an album in the year under review

Event Centre of the Year: a voting category that highlights some of the best event centers that have supported musical events and the music industry.

Special Recognition Awards: This category is specially set aside to honor individuals who have contributed to the success of the entertainment industry

Build Up to the Awards
As build up to the awards a celebrity Play station 4 championships will be organized, amongst Port Harcourt celebrities. This championship aims to foster more communism and oneness amongst entertainers in Port Harcourt , it also serves as a perfect build up to the GMA’s
Nomination Event: this event is staged to collated results from all nominating parties (Radio Stations, Music Bloggers, and Djs) in front of a selected jury to select our final nominees for fans to vote.
Nomination Party : this would be a gathering for all the final nominees and fans , this event will be for proper orientation on the GMAs
General city sanitation: all entertainers are expected to come out in numbers for a general city sanitation and awareness.
