The cold war within the Peoples Democratic Party, in Abia North Senatorial District took another demission following a public rejection of the senator representing the district, Senator Mao Ohuabunwa, at Abiriba in Ohafia Local Government area.

PDP supporters at an event organized by the Abiriba community, home to the state Commissioner for Information Mr. John Okiyi-Kalu, in honor of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, openly showed their support to an All Progressive Grand Alliance aspirant, Chief David Ogba Bourdex against Ohuabunwa .

The group under the aegis of Ohafia youth Forum, which had hailed the Deputy Governor Chief Ude Oko-Chukwu and the member representing Aro-chukwu Federal constituency Mr. UKo Nkole, booed Ohuabunwa when he mounted the stage to make a remark.

It will recalled that the Deputy Governor Oko-chukwu is still battling to win the support of the Ohafia clan in the area who had equally rejected him and openly and called for one their own as a replacement in 2019 at an event organized to receive Ikpeazu at Ebem Ohifia about a month ago.

Speaking to Journalists the leader of OYF and senior special Assistance to Gov. Ikpeazu on grassroots Mobilization who identified himself as Mr. Ifekwe Udo Emetu said Ohuabunwa should stop deceive himself, saying the zone has rejected him.

According to him, “Ohuabunwa has failed to meet up with the peoples’ expectation, thus he has to forget his ambition in 2019”.

Other PDP stalwarts from the zone who were seen discussing the embarrassment melted on Ohuabuawa, in small groups frowned at how the youths in zone would be campaigning for the candidate of another party.

A chieftain from the zoned who do want to be named warned that if the party big wig from the zone fails to tackle their internal differences on time, it might be difficult for the party to win elections in zone come 2019.
