Alex Otti Emerges As APGA Gubernatorial Candidate In Abia State

The winner of Abia state All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) gubernatorial primary, Chief Dr. Alex Otti OFR has assured his teeming supporters that they are closer to victory than when they started the race 2014.

The primary which took place at the APGA Abia State Secretariat with an NWC electoral panel led by Barr. Mrs Carol Dikeh Okoroafor who is also APGA National welfare secretary, also had INEC observers from Abuja, state party delegates, security and officials.

In his acceptance speech Dr Otti said ” You have selected me once again to lead you in our unrelenting test to release our state from bondage. Nearly four years ago, you had unanimously given me your mandate just like you did today. You all set out on that crusade which you will all agree yielded positive result. We were victorious in the field but unfortunately the process was truncated by enemies of progress led by the same evil and egocentric cabal that has led the state down for decades now”.

“As we were getting ready for this day, our opponents know that they are waging a war against the progress and well being of millions of Abia citizens and residents. As part of their plot, they have laid out several parts to ensure that we do not show up on the ballot. To realize this, they committed so much of our collective resources to their devilish projects. They sponsored evil minded people to speak into our midst with the design to hijack our party, in childish hope that this day of glory does not become a reality”.

“When you resisted their attempt to take over our party, they came up with another land mine. This time around they resorted to using a compromised judicial officer in this state, to hijack the party. They made failed attempt to impose someone unknown to us as our party chairman. The stranger evaded this secretariat we are today exactly a week ago to serve the so called court order which have not been served on us even as we speak here today.”

“The challenges may seem huge, but nothing can stop a band of determined people. I enjoin you to keep faith as we go into campaigns and elections proper. Thank you all for coming out and giving me your mandate and I assure you that together we will get to that promise land,he concluded “.

The party delegates came out in mass to cast their votes. 610 delegates were accredited amidst which Dr. Alex Otti got 574 votes and the remaining 36 votes were void.
