Nigerians should rise up and condemn in strong terms, the impunity being perpetrated by the former governor of Abia State Mr Orji Uzor Kalu who has become a terror to ndi Abia as he parades military officers to disrupt official functions of PDP in the State.
An attack on PDP faithfuls at Ihechiowa in Arochukwu local government which led to the death of an innocent boy by a trigger happy soldier attached to OUK is one of the many attempts by OUK to intimidate innocent Abians in his desperate move to get victory for APC against the wish of the masses who are aware of the wickedness and hardship imposed by the party on Nigerians, especially the anti-Igbo posture of the party that has seen many Igbo businesses targeted for destruction and our people left out in every important government decision.
These and other wicked actions of the former Governor coming on the heels of his ongoing trial over an alleged N7. 7 billion fraud charges levelled against him by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) is a great concern to Abians and Nigerians in general.
As I write, another youth who was hit by the bullet is currently receiving treatment in one of the government hospital in the state. Unfortunately the ex-governor has not deemed it fit to visit or commiserate with his victims but has publicly claimed that his campaign team was not allowed to approach an auditorium in Arochukwu which led to his security details shooting at the armless boys.
It is shameful that OUK who sneaked out of the country for medical reasons against an order of the court to have his passport seized pending the outcome of his criminal case is allowed to move around with tens of security operatives.
It is a big dent on the supposed integrity of President Buhari if OUK who was declared wanted for looting, stealing, embezzling state fund and diverting state properties to himself, is making a mess of his corruption Stand while EFCC looks elsewhere.
The general assumption is that President Buhari has distributed military officers to APC chieftains to enable them successfully rig elections for him. Let it be known that Nigerians will resist any attempt to kill and intimidate more persons in the name of election support.
Nigerians no longer have sympathy for our military officers because of their open involvement in politics.
If OUK who was recently declared wanted for corruption in billions, has been given military protection to harass citizens and commit despicable and heinous crimes against the State, We will take laws into our hands as the only measure to stay alive in Abia.
