The end of 2018 was for Macini something to always remember, especially as it came with a big bang performance. The Jamaican born, British dancehall reggae artist’s Nigerian tour was phenomenal. His performance in the Wizkid’s music concert in the prestigious Nicon Hilton Hotel Abuja was iconic, so also was his electrifying performance at the Amesi – Akalobo music carnival, in the eastern heartland of Nigeria.
Other artist who performed during that same music carnival include, Swiss pop star, NazB, Afro pop artist, Flavor, Gospel artist with great depth and impact, Osinachi Nwachukwu, Nigeria queen of pop, Falz and a host of others
The Amesi – Akalobo Music festival looks set to become a popular showbiz event with an international appeal. It is no doubt that the event has established itself as the South East Nigeria’s fiesta for people with taste for funfair.
Macini performed his popular single, ‘ see me ya,” and got the audience thrilled into raucous ecstasy. Macini was himself excited by by the acceptance of his music and promised his teeming fans more good music from his stable. He also did a duo, “my ring tone”, with NazB.
Macini says he has great passion for Nigerian music, especially Afrobeat. He plans to record a single with a mix of dancehall soon.
He was guest of many radio and TV stations in Lagos, Abuja and Awka. Among the famous stations that he granted interviews were Silverbird,Abuja, AIT, Lagos and UNIZIK FM Awka.
Should we expect to have Macini back to
country soon? He says he would be returning any moment to give his teeming fans the kind of thrill which they got during his Christmas 2018 tour of Nigeria.
