It is no longer news that the 6th house of Assembly will come to an end by next month and going by this standing protocol, the race of who becomes the speaker and the principal officers of the State house of Assembly have gathered momentum and have become more intense.

As expected the various interested contestants have started their own way of show casing their sagacity and magic wand to become the next speaker.

In this vein some group of people with myopic mindset and sense of reasoning have placed primordial sentiment above the general interest of Abia State which is Paramount. Some people have instigated fears of an unconditional override of the legislative arm over the executive. First of all it is awkward to insinuate such an ignoble.

According to the the tenets of Baron de Monsteque and Prof A.V. Dicey in their theory of power separation and Rule of Law respectively, those theories clearly defined the roles of the three arms of Government viz the Judiciary, the executive and the legislature to avoid power intoxication. They propagators of such insinuations may not be aware that the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria have clearly defined the responsibilities of all the arms of Government.

In a correlative manner, we all knows that Ikuku Abia, Hon. Chinedum Enyinnaya Orji is a true God sent to promote the ideologies of equity and eradicate the prejudice against the Ngwa Nation. Going with his cordial relationship with our people one will know that such insinuations are propagated from desperate and over ambitious Politicians who wants to be under the guise of tribalism to gain people’s sympathy.

Engr. Orji over the years has established a long term relationship with the Ngwa Nation irrespective of class, religion and gender. Going by this established fact it becomes irrational for someone to instigate such a misleading and misguiding information to achieve a cheap popularity.

Finally, to my people of Ngwaland the blessed land, let us remember that the biblical Cain and Abel were brothers while David and Jonathan were friends and we can’t forget what happened between Cain and Abel and David and Jonathan respectively.
