In a press release made available to PROFJAYSBLOG by Isuikwuato League of Young Professionals (ILYP), they have voiced out their minds that they have been Marginalized by their own (isuikwuato) stakeholders and not the state Government.
Read the press release below;
The attention of Isuikwuato League of Young Professionals (ILYP) has been drawn to a communiqué which emanated from a group of individuals who mendaciously claimed to be speaking for the entire people of Isuikwuato LGA by name “Isuikwuato District Assembly”
Much as we agree with the legitimate quest for power to come to Isuikwuato LGA in 2023, we are vehemently opposed and against the timing and isolation of the good people of Isuikwuato LGA from old Bende by few individuals.
A glossary look at the names of the individuals who were in a hurry to put the entire people of Isuikwuato LGA in bad light and cause unnecessary distractions to the second term mandate freely and overwhelmingly handed to Governor Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu by Abians, would reveal individuals who have benefited greatly from the Government with no positive effect on the masses. These Individuals have continued to hold and determine all political appointments and positions mapped out for Ndi Isuikwuato.
It is therefore, in the light to seek political patronage that they hurriedly, without due consultation, decided to disturb the political peace we enjoy in Abia state by causing disaffection with our brothers of old Bende. It is obviously not a coincidence that their communiqué came almost immediately our Isuikwuato LGA son was nominated a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. We urge these people to thread carefully in the pursuit of their parochial political ambition and not to damage Isuikwuato LGA PDP that has given them so much.
Defection is allowed in politics but they must not stoke up negative public sentiments against PDP by citing marginalization, when actually they are seeking to continue in their dominance. For the records Isuikwuato/Umunneochi LGAs have held the following positions in the state: 3 times Senator, 2 times State Party chairman, 3 times Asopadec Commissioner, Chairman State Council of ndi Eze, uncountable Commissioners in the state Exco, ministerial appointments and many other juicy appointments albeit we shall still continue asking for more but definitely we are not marginalized as the so called Isuikwuato District Assembly, would want us to believe.
Only our own so called political stakeholders have marginalized the rest of us consistently.
Finally, we want to pledge our continues unalloyed support to the Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu as he continues on the onerous task of building a new and more prosperous Abia State . We implore him never to fall prey to the schemes of these group seeking political appointments and recognition. They do not represent the people of isuikwuato or wield the kind of political influence they flaunt. A visit to the grassroots or review of their polling unit results in the recently concluded 2019 election will convince you that they are at best paper tigers and expired politicians.
We will allow the Governor settle down properly to deliver the dividends of democracy to Abians. We are not isolating Isuikwuato from old Bende or confining Isuikwuato LGA to Okigwe for selfish political reasons. We shall at the right time bring our genuine argument to the table in consultation with our brothers from other zones, to demonstrate why Isuikwuato LGA should be given the support for 2023 Governorship. Untill then, we are Abians and fully support the great work our Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is doing.
