The Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC led by Prof. Nelson Brambaifa trains disabled persons in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State on various areas of entrepreneurship such as fish farming, poultry, Poultry, Piggery production, Snail Farming, Oil Farming, Cassava Production, Cocoa Production, handcraft, and other agro-skills as part of the commission’s mandate to boost human capacity of the Niger Deltans.

Citizens quest, a fact finding organization visited the training center at Catholic Pastoral Centre, Brook’s Street, Uyo to interact with the beneficiaries of the training in a quest to acertain the truth and see things for themselves and verify if the claims were true.

It was gathered that the said training which started some weeks ago would come to an end on Friday, 2nd August , 2019 are located In different centers which comprises of the the theory center been located at Catholic Pastoral Centre, #5 Dominic Utuk Avenue, Brook’s Street, Uyo, while the practical Center is located at Vika Farm Limited, Idu Road, Mbak Ikot Abasi Mbak Etoi, Uyo, all in Akwa Ibom State

During an interview with the beneficiaries, they heaped praises on NDDC for not neglecting them and called for more of such programmes from the federal government.

( Secretary General of Joint Association of Persons with Disabled PWD Akwa Ibom Chapter who is one of the participants thanked the NDDC for giving him the opportunity to be trained and asked God to bless team of the management Board lead by prof. Nelson Brambiafa and Kufiori Okodi a beneficiary and Participant of the programme who expressed his happiness with NDDC for helping them out and coming to their rescue by giving the a sustainable skills and also thanked the Federal Government.

Mrs Mary Samuel one of the facilitators of the Coordinating Firm of the Program said that Nddc have awarded their firm contract to train more people as the program is going to be in batches.

The Staff and Management of Vikas Farms were full of appreciation to Nddc for chosen their Farm for such a laudable programme and promised to give there Best in making sure that the participants are trained to the Best in Agriculture and farming.
