A team of officials of the Aisha Buhari Foundation is paying a two-day visit to Abia State, with the objective of forging closer ties with Vicar Hope Foundation, pet project of Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu.
According to official statements from the Assistant Secretary of the Board of Trustees of the Foundation, Chika Ojiegbe, the team will be inspecting facilities of the Vicar Hope Foundation that include the Sickle Cell Centre, the VHF Youth Centre, the Mammography Centre, the VHF Diagnostics Centre, and the VHF Resources Centre that serves as headquarters for the Widows Indigent Shelter Scheme Programme and the VHF Springboard Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Programme.
The visiting team will as also pay visits to several persons who have benefitted from the numerous Vicar Hope Foundation projects.
The team from Aisha Buhari Foundation will further hold meetings with officials of the Vicar Hope Foundation and its President, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu. Top on the agenda will be future collaborations between Vicar Hope Foundation and the Aisha Buhari Foundation.
It would be recalled that Vicar Hope Foundation and the Aisha Buhari Foundation have collaborated over the past few years to the benefit of Abians in areas such as maternal and child nutrition, care for Internally Displaced Persons and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent, Health and Nutrition, RMNCAH+N.
Only recently, the Wife of the President Hajia Aisha Buhari had nominated Founder of Vicar Hope Foundation, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu as Champion of TB as part of efforts to have Mrs. Ikpeazu weigh-in on a current drive to reduce the number of new infections and mortality, as Nigeria carries the highest burden of Tuberculosis in Africa.
