NAPPMED, Rumuolumeni Zone Visits The Good Shepherd Children Home in Port Harcourt

Nigeria Association of Patient Proprietary Medicine Dealers (NAPPMED), Rumuolumeni Zone paid a visits to The Good Shepherd Children Home (A Home for Destitute Children) located at 5, Wellington Close, off Farm Road, Mgbuoba, Port Harcourt, Rivers State on the 21st of November, 2019.

The Rumuolumeni zone of NAPPMED was founded sometimes in February, 2003 with the emergence of Deacon Samuel Ezunba who served as the interim Chairman between 2003 to 2004, after which he was elected as the Chairman between 2004 to 2012.

Mr Matthew N. Kalu who was unanimously elected as the Chairman of the zone in 2012 and was before his election the vice chairman of the association, opened the floor by introducing the association’s to the Matron and the reasons for the visitation.

The Chairman of NAPPMED, Rumuolumeni Zone, Mr Matthew N. Kalu thanked every member of the association for their continuous cooperation and support as this is the second visitations the association is embarking on with the full cooperation of all the members of the association.

Speaking during the visitation, the Matron Mrs Blessing Dikigbo who hails from Okrika in Rivers State shed more lights on the mission and vision statements of the orphanage home. The Motherless babies home was founded sometimes in 2009 by Mrs Azuka Richier who’s over 70years of age and she’s also the owner of Shallow Heels Group of Schools, Artillery, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

She further stated that the orphanage home started with only 2 children but has over 25 children in their custody now.

Mr Matthew N Kalu told the orphanage home the reasons why they came visiting the The Good Shepherd Children Home and why it is important to always identify with such a people no matter how little. He further admonished the children not to loose hope in what is going to come their ways in the future. He also said God shall continue to provide and help the founder of The Good Shepherd Children Home.

The founder and the grand patron of the zone, Triple Chief N. Okike (Egbe bere, Ugo bere 1 of Onicha Igboeze, Ebonyi State) stated that it’s only the Rumuolumeni Zone has been able to carry out such a visitation, and he’s thanking the chairman and his excos for their continuous giant strides ever since they were elected to serve. He’s using this opportunity to advice other zones to emulate Rumuolumeni Zone in their positive strides.

The NAPPMED Obio/Akpor Local Government Chairman, and the Vice President of the State, Mr Tony Ihediohanma while speaking during the visitations admonishes everyone to live a very good life and be of good behaviour. He also prayed for the Matron in-charge of the orphanage, Mrs Blessing Dikigbo and asked God to keep strengthen her in every means.

Speaking further, he also advises the Rumuolumeni zone members of NAPPMED to always be of help to people that comes their ways especially this festive period. He said God will use our good deeds to defend us in our time of troubles.

Immediately after the NAPPMED Local Government Chairman’s speech, the Chairman of the Committee, Mr McDom I. Obiri-Ibe took out his time to explain some of the items brought before them and how the drugs could be administered to the children.
