Abiriba agog as Ikpeazu, Ude Okoh lead government officials to the wedding of Miss Obewu Ukaegbu

-Enachioken leads Abiriba monarchs to the ceremony

The Governor of Abia State, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, led the creme de la creme of Abia society to Abiriba in Ohafia LGA of the state to attend the traditional wedding ceremony between Dr Samuel Onyikepereye and Miss Obiewu Ukaegbu who is the daughter of one of the founding fathers of Abia State, the late Chief Obewu Ukaegbu.

Speaking during the ceremony, the Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Rt Hon Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, expressed appreciation to the Late founding father for his contributions during the struggle for the creation of the state and wished the couple marital bliss and prosperity as they embark on a new chapter of their lives. He charged them to make God the foundation of their marriage and used the occasion to pray God to shower Mr & Mrs Oyinkepereye with all the good things that come with marriage. He went ahead to thank mother of the bride for bringing up her daughter to become the wonderful wifely and motherly personality she has become.

Also speaking, Wife of the Governor of Abia State, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, who was accompanied by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Lady Vivian Oko Chukwu, enjoined the couple to put God first in their marriage to enable them obtain favor from God who is the initiator of the marriage institution. She described the mother of the bride, Chief Barr Mrs Nnenna Obewu, as a great mother who brought up her children in the fear of the Lord.

The Deputy Chairman of Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers and Enachioken of Abiriba Kingdom, HRM Eze Kalu Kalu Ogbu, led ofher Abiriba monarchs including the Effa of Agboji, Eze Benjamin Uche, Ukpaghari of Amaogudu, Eze Eme Ikpoka, among others, to pray to the ancestors of the Kingdom to protect the couple and grant them their heart desires as they live together as one.

In an interview with newsmen, the State Commasioner for Infornation, Chief John Okiyi Kalu, who was the Chairman of the occasion held at Agbor Court, Abiriba, called on the couple, Dr Lovina Obewu Onwuka and Dr Samuel Larry Oyinkepereye, to love and trust one another by not allowing a third party to come into their affairs.

Giving her motherly blessings to the couple, the mother of the bride, Chief Barr. Mrs Nnenna Obewu, also a former Commssioner for Transport In Abia State, thanked God for the grace given her to witness the marriage of her daughter, as well as those that came to celebrate with them.

Chief Nnenna Obewu also thanked the Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, his wife and the Deputy Governor Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, for coming to rejoice with them.

Responding on behalf of his wife, Dr. Samuel Onyikekpereye thanked all that came to identify with them and promised to be a good husband and father to their new family.
