Umuokogbuo at Large In Diaspora Distributes Palliatives to Umuokogbuo Community

A group of Umuokogbuo Sons and Daughters residents in Diaspora known as Umuokogbuo at Large in Diaspora has distributed palliatives worth over a million naira to Umuokogbuo Community, Isuikwuato, Abia State today being 14th of May, 2020.

Recall that the group had on 28th April, 2020 written to the leadership of Umuokogbuo about their intentions to distributes some palliatives to the Community as their social responsibility to cushion the effects of covid-19 pandemic.

In a media chats with the convener of the group, Mr Amaechi Ezebuiro, he opined that the palliative project was designed to help with the ‘hardship’ caused by the government mandatory stay at home as a result of the Coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic.

In a release jointly signed by the group’s Convener, Mr Amaechi Ezebuiro and the Secretary, Dr Chiebere Ogbuneke says “We urge the noble committee to kindly ensure that every member of each clan is a beneficiary of these gifts. No one should be left out please. We should include everyone regardless of whether they are residing within the village or visiting from outside with cavent that they are sons and daughters of Umuokogbuo Autonomous Community”

The group had also in their release listed the quantities of items to be distributed to the community as follows; 26 bags of 50kg rice, 9 bags of 100kg beans, 12 cartons of groundnut oil, 12 cartons of Maggie, 12 cartons of tomatoes and 4 cartons of sarchet salts respectively.

The group members who had contributed to palliative project are as follows; Mr Kelechi Ogbuneke, Mr Amaechi Ezebuiro, Dr Onyebuchi Ogbuneke, Mr Chinedu Ezebuiroh, Mrs Happiness Okorafor, Mr Obinna Ezebuiroh, Mrs Evelyn Isu and Mrs Queen Agwalla respectively.

While addressing the community, His Royal Highness, Eze J.E Ogbuneke had appreciated the group for their magnanimity towards ‘ndi Umuokogbuo’ especially in this covid-19 period and prayed that their pockets will never run dry.
