NCDC Records 265 New Cases of COVID-19 In Nigeria

The Nigeria Center for Disease Control, (NCDC), has recorded 265 new cases of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) in Nigeria, profjaysblog reports.

This was confirmed on the commission’s official and verified Twitter handle late night of 23rd May, 2020.

In the newly reported cases, Lagos State topped the list as its recorded 133 new cases of covid-19, followed by Oyo State with 34 new cases and Edo with new 28 new cases.

Still on the list, Ogun State came fourth with 23 new cases, while FCT followed with 22 new cases of covid-19 as reported by NCDC.

The rest of the states that recorded new cases had a single digits number unlike the other states earlier mentioned above.

Plateau State had 6, Kaduna 5, Borno 3, Niger 3, Kwara 2, Bauchi 2, Anambra 2, and Enugu 2 new cases respectively.

With the above figures, the total number of confirmed cases of covid-19 in Nigeria is now 7,526, while 2,174 patients have been discharged from the isolation centers across the country.

221 persons have so far died from the coronavirus between February 2020 when we first recorded the first cases of the virus in Nigeria.
