Pastor Adeboye Reacts to Rape and Death of Miss Uwaila Omozuwa in Edo State

The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye has reacted to the gruesome rape and murder of a member of it’s church, Miss Uwaila Omozuwa in Benin, Edo State, profjaysblog learnt.

In a press statement released by the leadership of the church and sited by profjaysblog, the church condemn the act in totality.

Parts of the press statement reads: “The attention of the leadership of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been drawn to the condemnable incident that occurred in Benin and linked to one of the parishes where a member was gruesomely murdered”.

“Preliminary information reaching us confirms the death of Miss Vera Uwaila Omozuwa, a 100 level student of the University of Benin (UNIBEN). The 22 year old member who does as a result of complications from the ugly incident”.

The leadership of RCCG further states that they are deeply touched and condemnn in absolute terms the evil act carried out on the innocent girl and also condemn any act of violence and abuse against women.

In conclusion, the church revealed that they are consulting with the appropriate authorities to ensure that an extensive investigation is carried out in line with the position already expressed by the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and the culprit should be made to face the full weight of the law.
