The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has reviewed the 24hours curfew placed in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the State, profjaysblog reports.

Effective from tomorrow, 4th of November, 2020, people can start going about their businesses between the hours of 6am to 7pm, he said.

Recall that the Governor placed a curfew in Oyigbo and some parts of the state after some hoodlums hijacked the peaceful protests of #EndSARS across the country.

After hoodlums hijacked the protests, they took to destruction of properties, burning of Police Stations and also killing of some security agents in the state.

The Gov placed a 24hours curfew in Oyigbo Local Government Area to restore peace but the event took another turn when military men were alleged to have started killing innocent persons in the name of searching for members of IPOB who were fingered to have carried out the disastrous act.

The resident of Oyigbo were denied access to Medicare, electricity, water and so many other things as the military took over the area with constant shooting, destructions of properties among others.

There have been allegations and counter allegations on who ordered the military men to take over Oyigbo which resulted into the extrajudicial killings of innocent citizens. Yesterday, 2nd of November, 2020, the Gov denied ever ordering the military men to take over Oyigbo nor to kill people during a live interview monitored by profjaysblog.

After the interview, he met with some Igbo leaders and other stakeholders in order to bring an everlasting solutions to this problem.
