The Rivers State Governor, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike has redeemed his ten million naira pledge made to artistes who performed during Burna Boy home coming on the 27th of March, 2021, profjaysblog reports.
In a press release sighted by profjaysblog, and signed by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mrs Tonye Briggs Oniyide, the money was paid to the various artistes on the 31st of March, 2021.
Parts of the statement reads; “The payments has been carried out in strict adherence to the pronouncement of the Governor”
“the account of the beneficiaries have been credited as directed by the Governor and as you know, the Governor is a man of his words and he has redeemed his pledge”
