Senator Emma Nwaka’s daughter Nancy Chinemerem Nwaka was joined in holy matrimony with Captain Ifeanyi Uduma, a civil aviation pilot, at St Matthew’s Anglican Church, Maitama, Abuja on Saturday April 10, 2021.
It was a political rally of sorts given the political bigwigs on parade. The Governor of Abia State was represented by his deputy, Dr. Ude Oko Chukwu at the event .
His Excellency, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, CON, former Governor of Imo State was the Chairman of the occasion.
Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, the minority leader of the Senate and his wife, the deputy whip of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Nkeiru Onyejeocha, Chief Chris Uba, member BOT, PDP, Rt. Hon. Stanley Ohajuruka former Speaker, Abia House of Assembly, Mrs Nnenna Ihejirika, wife of former Chief of Army Staff, Col. Austin Akobundu, National Organising Secretary of PDP, Dr. Onyinye Orji, wife of the Speaker, Abia House of Assembly, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, Mrs. Nnenna Moghalu, wife of the MD, Nigeria Inland Waterways, Chief Chris Uche, SAN, Bigadier General Omali, Brigadier General Garba Ibrahim, Major General Okey Ugo( Rtd) Chief Chima Anyaso, politician and oil magnate, Chief Ray Nkemdirim, former Director of Operations, Directorate of State Services, Chief Chuka Odom, former Minister of State, Federal Capital Territory were in attendance including so many other personalities too numerous to mention.
It was a very colourful event. His Excellency, Chief Emeka Ihedioha in his opening remarks noted that his family has had a cordial relationship with the Nwaka family since 1992. He said that they are a godly family whose daughter they gave out in marriage was brought up with the fear of God. He said he has no doubt she will be a help meet in the true sense of the word to her husband. He prayed to God to keep and bless the young family.
The deputy governor of Abia State in his remarks said that Senator Emma Nwaka is a good friend of the government of Abia State; he recalled that Nwaka was the Campaign Manager when governor Okezie Ikpeazu was first elected into office. He said for this reason coupled with the fact that Senator Emma Nwaka’s wife is a permanent secretary in the civil service of Abia State was a good enough reason for the governor to be at the event in person but regretted that he couldn’t make it due to the exigencies of office. He wished the new couple a blissful married life.
