It was an evening of relaxation, fun, laughter and entertainment as friends, fans, industry colleagues and family members trooped out to support and attend the ever explosive event of the month of June in the city of Port Harcourt tagged the Mayor of Pitakwa by a Nigerian comedian named KOBaba.
The city of Port Harcourt emptied its bowel for the phenomenal comedian as they all came out in their numbers not only to buy tickets but also to attend it to the end.
The joy of every event host is not only in selling of event tickets but in filling up the event center with people. This was the case of KOBaba during the Mayor of Pitakwa show which held at the Aztech Arcum Event Center, along Stadium Road, Port Harcourt on the 27th of June, 2021.
At about 15 minutes after 2pm, people were already standing and taking pictures for the red carpet. The hall was already half filled few minutes after 3pm. By 5:15pm, I could see some of the organizing team moving from one end to another trying to fix in some extra seats for people to sit.
The first performing arts took the microphone few minutes after 3pm. All the artistes on the list were meticulously selected for the promotion of Pitakwa story and to also give the audience the best humor.
The tempo of the show started from a lower concentration to a higher concentration as related to osmosis in biology. It was a value well exchanged as everybody were taken and swept off their feets.
Akpan Okon: This dude has been an exceptional comedian with an edge of mothers tongue. He took his performances to another level as i have never seen him with the kind of boldness with swallowed on Sunday. He was highly professional with a topnotch performances.
GSN: “The Ngwa Boi” came on stage with his ‘ngwa’ narratives and punched his lines like a script. He spent his few minutes with punchlines from the beginning to the end. There was never a dull moments with GSN as all his jokes were classy and new to the audience. A neatly fantabulous job!
Adviser: The Imo State Comedian and FUTO graduate really showed he has been in the comedy business for a while. He came with his seniority lines and was able to differentiate between the old and the new.
Danny Spry: The most successful “handicap” did not disappoint his people as he delivered his below the belt jokes with some sense of homour. Danny Spry knows how to seek the attention of his audience with his physical look whenever he is on stage. There has never been a dull moment with him.
Payo G: No one could easily describe this young dude who made debut into the comedy industry few years ago. With his Aki and Pawpaw stature-like, he has been able to keep his audience talking about the kind of confidence he has whenever he is on stage. He surely knows his onions and his management have invested a lot of time and energy seeing him move from stage to stage.
Akproko: The 2020 winner of the next naija comedy star organized by AY has been the talk of the town ever since he emerged from the blues. Though, he has been around for a while but unseen by many. You can never have a dull moment with this guy as he has the full composition of a comedian. He is comedy personified.
Other artistes not mentioned or captioned here did exceptionally well but were unable to appear here due to time…
”It’s been a long time a saw my wife laughed the way she did on sunday as every moment was a laughing moment for her. I nearly asked her to see a Doctor not remembering we were at a show were money was equated to value gotten” says Mr Juachi Ochu when he was asked how he felt about the show during the concluding parts.
Over 90% were never bothered about the existing curfew as the hall was still filled some minutes after 8pm. This is almost the first time such a thing is happening as people never bothered about their going back home.
According to an insider, who does not want his name disclosed, hinted our correspondent that over N15m (fifteen million naira) was infused into the event which happens to be KOBaba’s biggest event ever.
There is no highlights that anyone could write that will be able to explain in details what went down as activities could not be captured with ones two eyes alone. One could only write as he/she could remember.
