Hon Bariledum Teeh, a ward 6 councilor of Kaani Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State has donated over 20 sets of school desks to the students of community secondary school, profjaysblog reports.
During the presentation, the councilor said he saw that the community secondary school was in dare need of class desks and he decided to key into the project to enable the students of the school have an unhindered access to learning.
The Executive chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr Thomas Bariere was present during the donations of the desks to the community secondary school along side his entourage.
Dr. Thomas in his speech commended the councilor representing ward 6, Bariledum Teeh for delivering on his electoral mandate to the people of Kaani He said “I am overwhelmed today, that your son whom is a councilor under my administration has demonstrated his passion and ability to lead his people, it is really a thing of joy that within my 100days in Office, I am here to commission a project done by a councilor. This is what governance is, and this is why we were elected.
He futher pointed out that other members of the Khana 9th Legislative Assembly will emulate Hon. Teeh and also deliver on their electoral mandate to their people in the coming days.
The Khana Council Boss further warned against cultism, kidnapping and other social vices, stating that Kaani is one of the closest communities to Bori which in the coming years might become an extension of the main Bori town, but development will only strive were their is peace. The chairman futher promised the people of Kaani that council will renovate a section of the shool.
He said ” The Almighty God knows that I can’t come here and commission these desks and leave without doing something for the school. But this is how we are going to do it. The approach Hon.Teeh used is the same approach the local government is going to use. We are going to undertake the renovation of a line of dilapidated class rooms and furnish it with desks. We are here to deliver projects that will have direct bearing on the lives of Khana people he concluded.
