The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has announced the Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa as his running mate ahead of 2023 general elections, profjaysblog reports.
Atiku made this announcement through his official and verified Twitter handle today, being the 16th of June, 2022.
In his statement, the Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party said that he was delighted to announce Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as his vice presidential candidate. He further stated that, he look forward to traveling the great country together with Okowa, engaging with all Nigerians ands building a shared future of peace, unity and prosperity for all.

Few days ago, it was alleged that, the committee set up to pick a running mate for Atiku had settled in for the Rivers State Governor, Ezewon Nyesom Wike and he was to be announced today but, it seems there was a change of plans as Atiku instead announced Okowa as his running mate.
