The Abia State gubernatorial candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Apostle Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke has reassured pensioners in the state of her commitment to rekindle hope in them and wipe away their long years of pain and misery.
She gave the assurance during her visit to the Association of Concerned Pensioners, Abia State Chapter last week at their Sub-treasury and Pensions Office in Umuahia the state capital.
The pensioners who received Dr Johnson-Ogbuneke very warmly, recounted their many years of struggles to get their pension gratuities paid to them.
The leader of the pensioner group, Chief Emeka Okezie, with the others were happy that their group has been remembered by a governorship candidate, who has also given them much hope.
In her response, the SDP gubernatorial candidate, Apostle Ngozika Johnson-Ogbuneke, assured the pensioners that there is hope again for them come 2023 governorship election.
She emphasised that she and her administration will ensure that the pensioners would be well paid up within the first 18 months of her administration.
