The All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the just concluded general elections, Dr Onyinye Rufus-Obi has congratulated the newly elected governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Chioma Otti of the Labour Party, profjaysblog gathered.
Dr Alex Otti was declared the winner of the 18th March 2023 gubernatorial election by Prof Nnenna Oti at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation center in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State after pulling the highest votes cast in the governorship election.
Dr Alex Otti defeated his close rival, Chief Okechukwu Ahaiwe who happens to be the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with a very wide margins.

Good day ndi Abia!
Today history has been made in Abia State with the declaration of Dr Alex Otti OFR as the Governor – elect of the State. Today, light has been ushered in and the forces and shackles of darkness that have held sway in our dear State have been swept away.
I congratulate Dr Alex C. Otti OFR on his emergence as the duly elected Governor of Abia State. Given his antecedents and his track record of excellence, I have no doubt that ndi Abia will witness unprecedented growth and progress in the years ahead! Indeed, Dr. Otti has the Character, Competence and Capacity to lead this charge and bring about the much needed change in Abia State!
There is a lot of work to be done and I urge all candidates at various levels to sheath their partisan swords and join hands to turn the fortunes of Abia State around. It is true that the willingness to serve the people was expressed through various platforms. With the declaration today by INEC, all of these should coalesce under the Otti canopy, to ensure that our people are well served. The level of decay is enormous, the task ahead, daunting but with cooperation, patience and faith in God, ndi Abia will indeed, weep no more …
