Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested an ex-convict, Abdul-Lateef Mutiu, for snatching a mobile phone from an Uber driver in Ketu area of the state.
RRS, in a statement on Thursday, October 5, 2023, said the 20-year-old suspect, who has been operating in the area since 2018, was arrested on Wednesday morning while attempting to escape.
“Around 9:30 p.m. yesterday, eagle – eyed operatives of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) arrested Abdul-Lateef Mutiu, 20, an ex-convict after snatching an Infinix Hot 30 Play valued at N93, 000:00 from an UBER driver in Ketu,” the statement read.
“The suspect, had after snatching the phone from the driver, attempted to escape when the officers arrested him
“The suspect confessed that he has been operating in the area since 2018 and has been arrested two times.
“Commander RRS, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has directed that the phone be handed over to its owner while the suspect be charged to court immediately.”
