APC Uncovers Alleged Plot By Diri’s Camp To Disrupt Bayelsa State Gubernatorial Election

APCIn a recent development ahead of the Bayelsa State Gubernatorial election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has claimed to have discovered a plot by supporters of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), led by the incumbent Governor, Senator Douye Diri, to foment violence and disrupt the electoral process in Brass and other Local Government.

Joshua Maciver, the Deputy Governorship candidate of the APC, has raised concerns about the violence allegedly being planned by the PDP for the upcoming elections.

During a campaign in Brass, the APC candidate has called on the community of Twon Brass to stand united against these disruptive activities and take strong measures to prevent them, suggesting that the sea might be the only escape route for any misbehaving individuals or those attempting to cause violence.

“Anyone who engages in unruly behavior should be pursued into the sea,” Maciver stated.

The APC candidate expressed his dismay at the reported incidents of assaults and violence in Kolukoma, allegedly carried out by close allies of Governor Diri.

He urged members of the All Progressives Congress in Twon Brass to remain vigilant and ensure a peaceful electoral process. Maciver also assured the public that those responsible for violence would be held accountable.

Furthermore, Maciver emphasized that, as Twon Brass is surrounded by the sea, anyone contemplating using it as an escape route should be wary. Historically, crossing the treacherous waters to escape has been a perilous endeavor, often with dire consequences.

As the tension in Bayelsa State rises in the run-up to the elections, both major political parties appear to be on high alert, with the APC accusing the PDP of planning disruptions, and the PDP are yet to deny any such involvement.
