The founder of UC Foundation and a member of Eluama Love Brothers, Chukwudi Clement Uguru has congratulated the newly elected President General of Eluama Development Union Worldwide, Chief Cyril Uchenye, pjtvnews reports.
Chukwudi Uguru made this known to pjtvnews correspondent via a telephone chat on Monday, few hours after the election was held and urged the new President Elect to work in the spirit of “no victor, no vanquished” to move the community forward.
He went further to stress that, this is the time to work for the progress of the community and bring all stakeholders together to work for the speedy development of the community.
“I want to commend the electoral committee for carrying out a peaceful, free and fair election for ndiEluama and for their proactiveness during the conduct of the said election.”
The election which produced Uchenye was held at Eluama Town Hall on the 31st of March, 2024 with over 400 persons in attendance.
Recall that, the election was previously scheduled for Saturday, 30th of March, 2024 but was cancelled midway due to some irregularities according to the Electoral Committee Chairman, Chief O.U Ogbonna.
Chief O.U Ogbonna declared Cyril Uchenye the winner of the election after polling a total of 237 votes as against 148 votes from his rival, Chief Engr Chiweuba Onyike.
