May 27th: Amobi Ogah Celebrates Children’s Day

Amobi Ogah Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah, member representing the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency and house committee chairman on ATM, joins Nigerians to celebrate the 60th Children’s Day.

The first Children’s Day which was observed across Nigeria in 1950, was initiated by Late Chief Obafemi Awolawo, who was then the leader of opposition in the Western House Assembly.

Though, it was established in 1949 as the International Day for protection of Children by the Women’s International Democratic Federation in Moscow, but was earliest celebrated in United States if America in 1857 by pastor Charles Leonard, in his church.

In 1964, Nigeria set aside May 27 as a holiday for Children. The day immensely draws attention and brings to the fore awareness on problems faced by Children. The excitement of the day is palpable.

Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah celebrates with the Children in Nigeria. He urges the Children of his constituency to be law abiding citizens. He wished them safety and protection as they will go about in their various places for Children’s match-pass.
