The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 16 Yenagoa Visits Rivers State Police CommandThe Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 16 Yenagoa, comprising Bayelsa and Rivers States, AIG Paul Omata visited Rivers State Police Command on Thursday, 27th June 2024 to assess and reassess the current security situation amidst the Political crisis in the State.

Addressing Officers and men of the command, the AIG noted that his visit coincided with the decoration of two Senior Officers who have been elevated from CSPs to the rank of Assistant Commissioners of Police.

The AIG commended the CP, his Management Team and other ranks for their resilience and neutrality in the discharge of their duties in the face of deepening Political wranglings in the State and urged them to sustain the tempo.

He acknowledged the crime-fighting strategies of the Command which he said had paid off and impelled Officers to be Professional and effective in carrying out their responsibilities and look to their superiors for directives when at crossroads.

On his part, the Commissioner of Police Rivers State, CP Olatunji Rilwan Disu psc, thanked the August visitor and his entourage, further informing him that the Rivers State Police Command under his watch would continue to remain apolitical and will not in any way indulge in acts that will place the command in bad light. He charged the newly promoted and decorated Officers to mentor and motivate their subordinates and to bring to bear their wealth of experience and knowledge in their new ranks.

ACP Victor Perebogha was decorated by the AIG and was assisted by the General Overseer of Omega Power Ministries (OPM) HRM Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere while ACP Olufunke Opeyemi was decorated by the CP and was also assisted by another clergyman.

In his vote of thanks, ACP Victor Perebogha who spoke on behalf of the other promotee, thanked the Almighty God for the very significant day. He thanked the IGP for finding them worthy of the recommendation for the promotion. He also thanked the PSC for the timely release of these promotions after recommendations by the IGP. He further thanked the AIG Zone 16 Yenagoa, the Commissioner of Police and his Management Team, other Officers and Clergymen who had come from far and near to celebrate with them in their moment of joy and promised to uphold the tenets of the Force.
