Greater Abia: Chief Ifeanyi Frank Chinasa Calls For Diaspora Support

The Leader of Labour Party in Bende, Chief Ifeanyi Frank Chinasa has applauded the massive infrastructural reconstruction currently being undertaken by Governor Alex Otti in Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the South East.

Speaking at the premiere edition of Aba (Worldwide)Reunion, which took place at the weekend in Dallas Texas, Chief Chinasa, also known as Agu Bende, commended the development and enjoined the diasporal community to partner government in realizing the vision of turning Aba into a modern megacity through massive infrastructural development.

Addressing the impressive crowd of attendees, made up of proud sons and daughters of Aba, who reside in different parts of the world, including, USA, UK, Europe and China, Chief Chinasa went down memory lane, as a typical ‘Aba brought up’, to reminisce on some unique peculiarities of the city.
In a speech laced with humour, the renowned LP Leader treated guests at the reunion to some unique Aba jokes, cliches and slangs, lighting up the atmosphere in the process. While highlighting the current pace of infrastructural development in Aba, Chief Chinasa passionately urged the Diaspora community to actively contribute to the city’s ongoing renaissance in order to bring back the lost glory of Enyimba, which according to him was once globally famous as the “Japan of Africa.”

Chief Chinasa’s clarion call struck a chord with attendees, as he passionately invited diasporal Abians to return home and partner the state government in the mission of reinventing and elevating Aba to new heights.

The Reunion turned out to be a celebrated event that provided a veritable platform for former residents of the metropolitan city now living in different countries worldwide, to gather together in order to strategize, synergize and network for the ultimate purpose of fostering speedy development of their beloved Enyimba City.
