A bill to establish Federal School of Nursing and Midwifery, Uturu in Abia State has passed the first reading at the National assembly, pjtvnews reports.
The bill which was sponsored by the member representing the good people of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon Amobi Ogah has passed the first reading at the floor of the national assembly during its plenary session on the 17th of December, 2024.
According to the documents sighted by pjtvnews correspondent, the bill would be enacted by the national assembly of the federal republic of Nigeria and has been adjourned to come up for second reading soon.
The bill which will be passed into law in a few months will play a vital role in shaping the healthcare landscape in Abia State and Nigeria at large. The school will provide a high quality education and training to nursing and midwifery students, equipping them with the skills and knowledge necessary to deliver exceptional patient care by producing well trained nursing and midwifery professionals. The institution, if established will contributes significantly to improving healthcare system in the state and in the country.
