
The Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer, Hon Iheanyi Frank Chinasa has paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service in Abuja.

Courtesy Visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service by the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer
I, Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, M.B.A, Abia State National Assembly Liaison Officer, recently paid a courtesy visit to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) headquarters in Abuja. The purpose of the visit was to discuss employment opportunities for Abia State indigenes within the service.
During the visit, I engaged with senior NIS officials, including ACG Echefuna L. Anugwa and ACG A.K. Ademola, on critical issues relating to the employment of Abia youths in ongoing and future recruitment exercises. Our discussions focused on:
– Equitable Representation: Ensuring fair representation of Abia indigenes in recruitment exercises.
– Awareness Campaigns: Educating prospective applicants on recruitment procedures and requirements.
– Support Framework: Establishing a support framework to facilitate the application process for qualified candidates from Abia State.
Key resolutions from the meeting include:
1. Strengthening Collaboration: Strengthening collaboration between the Abia State National Assembly Liaison Office and NIS to ensure fair representation.
2. Awareness Campaigns: Launching awareness campaigns to educate prospective applicants.
3. Formal Communication Channel: Establishing a formal communication channel between NIS and the Abia State Government.
4. Dedicated Recruitment Help Desk: Proposing the creation of a dedicated recruitment help desk to assist Abia applicants.
