On Saturday, 15th March, 2025, MD/CEO Chimola Investment Limited, Comrade Ogbonnaya Calistus Chiemela hosted the stakeholders, executives and members of Abia Arise Political Structure, Umunnekwu Ward 6, Isuikwuato LGA in his country home at Umunnekwu Agbo.
The well attended event witnessed the presence of the Labour Party Chairman of Isuikwuato LGA, Hon. Harrison Onuke as well as the Abia Arise Isuikwuato LGA Coordinator, Chief Ifeanyi Chikwendu (Nkenkenyi), Dr. Onyinye Kay Rufus-Obi and their entourage.
In his welcome speech, Comrade Ogbonnaya thanked all who graced the occasion for finding time despite their tight schedules. He promised his unalloyed support to the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR and to galvanize the people of the Ward and beyond for the political structure of the Governor.
He reiterated that Governor Otti has changed the face of governance in Abia State generally and Isuikwuato LGA in particular with his numerous ongoing and completed projects across the state. He eulogized the Governor for the improvement of infrastructure in the state, business friendly environment, prompt payment of workers salaries, pensions, etc to mention but a few. He pledged to mobilize men and resources for the Governor’s reelection come 2027.
In their separate speeches, Hon. Onuke and Chief Chikwendu appreciated Comrade Ogbonnaya for hosting such gathering, they encouraged him and other stakeholders to work in synergy to win more souls to the Labour Party and Abia Arise folds.
Some Ward stakeholders present include; Dr. Hart Enwerem, Chief Onwuchekwa Enwerem, Dr. Sunny Maduka, Princess Ezioma Ogboku, Chief Chidi Ogboku, Mr. Ikechukwu Nwachukwu, Mrs. Green Umunna, Mr. Chidi Ogaogbuo. Labour Party Chairman for Ward 6, Mr. Chidi Ihemegbulam and Abia Arise Coordinator for Ward 6 Mr. Chukwuma Ikejiaku were also present during the meeting. Others were Mr. Christian Joshua, Mr. Sunny Ndukauba (Sunny White).
High point of the occasion was the official reception of defected members of PDP and APC into the Labour Party and Abia Arise Structure in the Ward as well as their teaming supporters as performed by Hon. Onuke and Chief Chikwendu. Some of the defectors include; Chief Ahamefule A. Ogbonnaya, Hon. Ndukwe J. Akabueze, Mr. Sunday Alaohuru, Mr. Emmanuel N. Iheanacho and Mrs. Felicia Ebere Akabueze who promised to work for the party and Abia Arise having seen and felt the good governance driven by Governor Alex Chioma Otti OFR.
The people were lavishly entertained with food and drinks as well as stipend for transport while the band group rendered melodious tunes to the admiration of those present.
This gathering has set the tone for the Ward 6 outing in the forthcoming April 17th LGA rally in Mbalano Isuikwuato LGA.
