Amobi Ogah Asks INEC to Prosecute Onyejeocha For Forging, Tendering 63 Fake Polling Unit Results. Documents Attached

The Federal High Court, Abuja, presided over by Honourable Justice M. Umar, has granted leave to the Member Representing Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Ogah, to apply for an Order of Mandamus compelling the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to investigate and prosecute the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Hon. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, for allegedly forging polling unit results used during the 2023 general election.

In the suit FHC/ABJ/CS/1308/2025, Hon. Ogah alleged that the Minister forged and presented certain polling unit results from Isiukwuato and Umunneochi Local Government Areas, which were tendered at the Election Petition Tribunal and formed part of the documents relied upon to nullify his election — a decision later upheld by the Court of Appeal.

Justice Umar, in his ruling, stated:

“An order is hereby made granting leave to the applicant to apply for an Order of Mandamus against the respondent, compelling the respondent to investigate and prosecute Nkeiruka Chidubem Onyejeocha for the electoral offence of forging the election results of polling units within the Isiukwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State.”

The court’s decision marks a significant legal development in the ongoing post-election disputes arising from the 2023 general elections, as it directs INEC to take immediate steps to examine the alleged forgery claims and institute prosecution where necessary.
