
In a display of diplomatic goodwill and international fellowship, Hon. Iheanyi Frank Chinasa, Chief Liaison Officer of the Abia State Liaison Office in Abuja, today represented the Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, at a grand reception held in celebration of the birthday of His Majesty King Charles III.
The prestigious event took place at the residence of the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Richard Montgomery CMG, located at 19 Torren Close, Off Mississippi Street, Maitama, Abuja.
The reception brought together distinguished members of the diplomatic corps, senior government officials, traditional rulers, captains of industry, and key stakeholders from various sectors notable of which were the Emir of Zauzau, HRH. Emir. Ahmed Nuhu Bamali, Sen. Magnus Abe, High Commissioner of Canada to Nigeria, H.E. Pasquale Salvaggio, Amb. Michael Freeman, Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria amongst others. It served as a platform to further strengthen bilateral ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with a renewed commitment to shared values of democracy, development, climate responsibility, and global peace.

Speaking on behalf of Governor Alex Otti, Hon. Iheanyi Chinasa conveyed warm felicitations to His Majesty King Charles III, acknowledging his enduring contributions to environmental sustainability, youth development, and global humanitarian causes. He also expressed Abia State’s readiness to foster deeper partnerships with the United Kingdom in areas such as education, healthcare, economic growth, technology, and governance reforms.
Hon. Chinasa applauded the British High Commission’s efforts in building stronger relations with Nigerian states and commended Mr. Richard Montgomery CMG for his exemplary diplomatic leadership.
The event was not only a celebration of the British monarch but also a reaffirmation of the strong ties between the United Kingdom and Nigeria, and by extension, the people of Abia State.
