The Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni, Prof Ozo Mekuri Ndimele in the company of some delegations of staff of the management team and some SUG officials presented some palliatives to Rivers State Government as parts of the University’s contributions in fighting the spread of covid-19 pandemic currently ravaging the country and the world at large, profjaysblog reports.
According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ozo Mekuri Ndimele during his presentation, made the committee in charge of receiving the palliatives for the state government that all the items being presented are products of the University.
According to the Student Union Government (SUG) PRO, Amb Uche Wegbo Joseph, the items which include Alcoholic made hand sanitizers, Liquid soap, and nose mask were produced by chemistry department and home economics department respectively.
While responding to the gesture of the University, the Commissioner for Agriculture, Hon Dr Fred Kpakol who’s also the secretary to the committee appreciated the Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Prof Ozo Mekuri Ndimele and others who were present and quickly seized the opportunity to acknowledged the transformational work of the Vice Chancellor in turning the University into a 21st century school.
“I appreciates the school, and all the departments for their creative prowess in going out of their way to produce and donates the alcoholic hand sanitizers, liquid soaps, etc. It shows that the university is growing in her made in IAUE Policy”.
He also applauded the Department of Chemistry and Home Economics for their Innovative & Creative prowess in producing the materials donated, And stated that it shows that the University is growing with her Made in IAUE Policy.
The Hon. Commissioner Promised the University that in due time the State Government will reciprocates the kind gesture of the University.
