COVID-19: Umuokogbuo In Diaspora Distributes Palliatives to Umuokogbuo Community

Umuokogbuo Development Union (UDU) in diaspora has distributed palliatives worth over a million naira to the people of Umuokogbuo Community in Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State, profjaysblog reports.

According to profjaysblog, the palliatives were distributed by some spirited individuals of Okogbuo indigenes in diaspora to help in fighting and ameliorating the sufferings of their people during this covid-19 pandemic currently ravaging the country and the world at large.

The group distributed about 185 cartons of noodles, 185 bags of rice, 5 bags of beans and 185 cartons of tin tomatoes respectively.

In a letter signed by the Convener of the group; Chief Ndubuisi Godwin Ochuba, the Coordinator; Ms Nkechi Linda Osuji and the Secretary, Engr Osinachi Nnabuko, which reads in parts, “We, a group of Umuokogbuo indigenes resident in the diaspora
understand the impact this could be on our people back home and rallied
ourselves together to make this palliative provision which we present to
you all today”.

The group also finds it worthy to appreciate the people who responded to their calls which include, Mr. Emenike
Ochuba, Mr. Emenike Collins Osuji, Chief. Ndubuisi Godwin Ochuba, Engr.
Osinachi Nnabuko, Mr. Ugochukwu Iheme-Madukairo, Mr. Chinedu Nwaji,
Mrs. Hope Uzoma Elombah (Nee Osuji), Mr. Chukwudi Akaleme, Mr.
Emeka Akaleme, Ms. Nkechi Linda Osuji, Mrs. Agnes Ibelo (Nee Ikpo),
Mrs. Uzoma Okpukpara (Nee Rufus Obi), Mrs. Nneoma Okezie (Nee
Nnabuko), Mrs. Linda Nwanyieze Idowu (Nee Ottah) and Mrs Ihuoma Anajemba (nee Osuji), Mr. Obiefula Nwaji, Mr. Elvis Ejiogu Enyioma and Mr. Chijioke Nwaji.

The President General of Umuokogbuo Development Union, Elder Barr Frank Iheme Chukwueke together with his team of executives have thanked and appreciated their brothers and sisters in diaspora for their magnanimity and benevolence in making sure that their people down home lack nothing during this covid-19 pandemic.

The President General also used the opportunity to enlighten the people of Umuokogbuo about the deadly Covid-19 pandemic and asked them to always wash their hands frequently for a minimum of 20 seconds. He also advised them to keep maintaining social distance and make use of their face masks if they must go out.

The President General of the Youths, Mr Ndubuisi Onwuchekwa also shown his appreciation to our brothers and sisters in Diaspora for their love and care to the people of Umuokogbuo in this trying moments.
