The National body of Eluama Development Union (EDU), Isuikwuato has distributed palliatives to the pro poor people in Eluama Community on Thursday, 7th May 2020 in other to cushion the effects of covid-19 pandemic that is currently ravaging the country and the world at large.
According to the President General of Eluama Development Union (EDU), Chief Johnnie Ndukauba, the Union distributed 18 bags of rice, 12 bags of Beans, 6 bags of Onions, 12 bags of Salts, 12 cartons of Tomatoes and other items worth about one million Naira.
The distribution was done through the Representatives of the six Autonomous Communities that make up Eluama Isuikwuato.
The President General of Eluama Development Union, Chief Johnnie Ndukauba also thanked and appreciated all kind spirited individuals who contributed in one way or the other towards achieving this success within the short period available.
The President General also appreciated the efforts of the Executive Committee members who were charged with the task of purchasing, delivering and distributing the palliatives to all the six Autonomous Communities in this covid-19 pandemic period.
The National EXCO set up a Committee to handle the task. In the words of the President General, “We want to appreciate the Committee headed by Dr. Victor Nkemdirim (Secretary General), – with Mr Anselem Adole (National Provost) and Mr Ucheson Umahi (National Provost) as members – for their proactive, and spontaneous approach towards this project”
To witness the distribution were the women, youths and leaders of the Autonomous Communities including the President General, Eluama Development Union (Women’s Wing), Lolo Lilian Aruogu – who praised the people in general for the kind gesture.
Individuals and groups in Eluama Isuikwuato had presented other materials to pro poor people in Eluama before now.
