My Recognition Speech to Dr Alex Otti on The Gubernatorial Elections In Abia State – SDP Guber Candidate, Apostle Ngozika Johnson-Ogbuneke

I bring Calvary Greetings to the good People of Abia State on this Day – 22nd March 2023.

I ardently appreciate the people of Abia State for their doggedness, support and solidarity for me in the just concluded Abia Governorship elections. I also applaud them for their calmness, patience, control and order which they have firmly demonstrated in these past four (4) days following the Elections of 18/03/2023.

Permit me also to commend the INEC Officials in Abia State, the Returning Officers and the Party Agents of the various Political Parties on their goodly services and their resolve to comply with INEC regulations and guidelines.

Yes, it is seemingly received that Dr Alex Otti of Labour Party is said to have won more LGAs in Abia State than the other Governorship candidates, of whom I am one.
At this stage, in all sincerity and transparency of purpose, I am not able to concede that Dr Alex Otti has won the Governorship election in Abia State; nor to acknowledge the fact that he has come this far by playing fairly, justly and freely devoid of political chicanery.

If the foundation of his government is marred, where is the place for righteousness?

Dr Alex Otti in February 2023, used a group of men who had been suspended from the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2019, to violently attack my candidacy as the Governorship candidate of the SDP, with him and the Labour Party making unjust and dubious claims that the SDP in Abia State had been collapsed into his Labour Party, which was not only mendacious, but also malicious in all its ramifications.

Dr Alex Otti and the Labour Party circulated so much of this hell-oriented falsehood and smear campaigns on various social media corridors that many unsuspecting Abia people who had been supporting the SDP and the positive waves of my Campaign were led to believe that I, Apstl Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke, the SDP Governorship candidate was no longer in the race, when that was not the case. He, Dr Alex Otti violently undermined my candidacy despite the supports he was getting from supporters of Mazi Peter Obi into Labour Party.

On 16/02/2023, the SDP Abia State Chairman, Elder Edward Ezenwoke, Hon Pastor Chidinma Shalom Udochukwu and myself, played guests to various Radio Stations in Abia State – the Family Love FM, the Rapid FM, etc to debunk these false claims and statements, but damages had already been done to my campaign and campaign waves.

For the sake of my sincere, passionate and honest love for Abia State and her people, I have watched as Dr Alex Otti (Labour Party) and Chief Okey Ahiwe (PDP), wrestled the last details of votes from Obingwa LGA. I truly respect both men and their quests but I also thank the INEC for their clarifications.

However, it will be a demonstration of self-deception if I join the bandwagon flying congratulatory messages to Dr Alex Otti, even in the face of the injury he inflicted on my mandate for Abia State couple with the unwholesome marriage he secured and nurtured with my Deputy Governorship candidate. These false claims and deceptive orchestrations have not only belittled him, but have also shown that Dr Alex Otti suffers from cancer of character, and therefore lacks the moral imagination to govern Abia State.

In the subject-matter of the baskets of votes for Dr Alex Otti’s Labour Party, still exist some votes meant for Apstl Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke of the SDP; and inasmuch as he, Dr Otti cannot separate what he has done and the votes won, from effects of a truly fair campaign and elections, all equitable principles now demand of him to act rightly and recognise what he took from my mandate – the SDP Governorship candidate to add to his own.

I respect the rule of law and I pray that Dr Alex Otti also does the same. The UN Convention on the Elimination of all forms of Discrimination Against Women, CEDAW, frowns as such actions that he took to bring him to this point of his own celebration whilst robbing me – the SDP Governorship candidate. I make bold to assert here that at no time did I collapse my structures for him; neither was Abia SDP collapsed for him.

Inasmuch as he, Dr Alex Otti relies on the INEC to declare him the winner of the Abia Guber election, he ought to have also respected the registrations of the same INEC in Abia State SDP, seeing that the registered SDP Chairman in Abia State is Elder Edward Ezenwoke and he, Dr Alex Otti did not deal with this man neither did he deal with the registered SDP candidate – Apstl Dr Ngozika Gladys Johnson-Ogbuneke. And again he, Dr Alex Otti never dealt with me to collapse my structures for him nor for the Labour Party.

I stand for Truth, Justice and Fairness.

I wish the People of Abia State well and pray that the next Governor will be one whose foundation is perfected in all things.

For those who may not fully appreciate my arguments here, my question to Dr Alex Otti is this: if he knew that he was confident of winning the Abia Governorship election and to be the next Governor using the platform of Labour Party alone, why did he not stick to that? But no! He had to strike the wave of the campaign of Ngozi Abia 2023, to make false claims of SDP collapsing structures for himself and for the Labour Party to now win. This is unacceptable to me.

I just want Dr Alex Otti to note that Success earned cheaply on the delicate trajectory of treachery and blackmail is ultimately surrendered at the slippery altar of perfidy.

I simply ask Dr Alex Otti to look inwards and do all that he can, to see that he stands tall before the People of Abia State and correct the effects of the perceived harm he caused to my Mandate. Until then, I am not yet able to concede to him as being the next Governor of Abia State.

I simply recognise that he has settled his INEC voting details as per Obingwa LGA.

Thank you, the good people of Abia State whose mandate I will still seek tomorrow, in order to actualize that heavenly prophetic order and that divine responsibility I am meant to discharge for Ndi Abia.
