– Organizers Announce Nominations, Grand Award Night, Humanitarian Outreach And Over 40 Prestigious Categories
The highly anticipated 2026 edition of the prestigious DMOMA Awards has officially commenced, as organizers unveiled activities for what has been described as the “People’s Edition” of one of Africa’s fastest-growing and most respected award platforms.
Now in its 6th edition, the DMOMA Awards has continued to gain recognition for celebrating excellence, leadership, humanitarian service, youth impact, innovation, and transformational contributions across various sectors in Nigeria, West Africa, and beyond.
According to the official press release signed by the Chairman of the DMOMA Awards Board of Trustees, Ezebunwo Nyeche, and the Chief Organizer, Chidiebele Okoye Stephens, the 2026 edition will specially focus on recognizing personalities, institutions, brands, and organizations whose contributions directly impact communities and improve lives.
With the theme “The People’s Edition,” organizers say the award platform remains committed to its long-standing vision of celebrating individuals whose works positively influence humanity and society.
From its base in Port Harcourt, the DMOMA Awards has evolved into a people-oriented and apolitical recognition platform known for its credibility, transparency, originality, and consistency in honoring excellence across fields including medicine, engineering, academics, law, media, politics, entertainment, entrepreneurship, humanitarian service, corporate leadership, and community development.
One of the unique features distinguishing the DMOMA Awards from many conventional award platforms is its exclusive DMOMA Artifact presented to winners; a symbolic recognition piece currently valued at approximately $4,000 and regarded as a mark of prestige and honor.
Organizers officially announced that nominations for the 2026 edition will open from June 4 to July 24, 2026, while the publication of nominees is scheduled for August 1, followed by the distribution of nomination letters on August 4.
The screening and selection process by the DMOMA Awards Board of Trustees Academy is expected to run between October 4 and November 4, 2026, ahead of the grand award ceremony scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 5, 2026, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The event lineup will conclude with a special Thanksgiving and Humanitarian/Charity Outreach programme fixed for December 13, 2026.
Award categories for the 2026 edition include Honorary Awards, Lifetime Achievement Awards, Politician of the Year, Commissioner of the Year, Company of the Year, Medical Personnel of the Year, Engineer of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Media Personality of the Year, Youth Impact Award, Philanthropist of the Year, African Icon of the Year, Lady of Excellence Award, Social Media Influencer of the Year, Humanitarian Service Provider of the Year, and several others.
Interested nominators are expected to submit the nominee’s name, category, state, country, contacts, and a clear photograph through the official email address or WhatsApp platform provided by the organizers.
The organizers further disclosed that sponsorship and partnership opportunities remain open strictly to reputable firms, multinational companies, government agencies, credible brands, and distinguished individuals willing to support the vision of the award platform.
