In a display of political momentum, popular enthusiasm, and strategic unity, the campaign train of the Executive Governor of Abia State, His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, alongside the Abia North Labour Party Senatorial Candidate, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex, MFR, OON (Ugo’Ena Nde Abiriba), stormed Umunneochi Local Government Area on Friday, November 6, 2026.
The high-powered campaign tour transformed into a triumphant political sweep, signaling an alignment of leadership, tradition, and grassroots power across Abia North.
The momentum began early in the morning as Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex and his entourage departed Abiriba for Uturu to meet the Member Representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah.
Before reaching the destination, the tour witnessed a significant, unscripted moment of political camaraderie. The convoy of Hon. Amobi Ogah’s elder brother, Hon. Uche Samson Ogah, former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, passed the entourage along the road. Recognizing the campaign movement, the former Minister reversed course and joined the leaders at Hon. Amobi Ogah’s residence.
Chief Uche Ogah hosted the entourage at his country home while awaiting final protocol signals from the Governor’s team. The spontaneous reunion underscored a deepening coalition of influential figures uniting behind the Labour Party’s vision for Abia State and Abia North.
The tour gathered further force at the residence of the Chairman of the Umunneochi Council of Traditional Rulers at Amaeke Uru, Lokpanta, Umuchieze.
Upon Governor Alex Otti’s arrival, the palace venue erupted in cheers as traditional rulers, town union leaders, and political stakeholders received the delegation. The presentation of traditional kola nuts, exchange of royal blessings, and solemn pledges of support reflected a complete alignment between the state’s traditional institutions and the government’s governance scorecard.
Addressing the royal fathers, Governor Otti and Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex highlighted the security restoration, infrastructural breakthroughs, and economic revitalizations delivered across Umunneochi and the wider senatorial district since May 2023.
The momentum reached a crescendo at Peace Comprehensive Secondary School in Isuochi, where a massive crowd turned the rally ground into a sea of Labour Party supporters. Thousands of youths, women’s groups, elders, and support organizations gathered to endorse the campaign.
Addressing the cheering crowd, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex noted that the turnout was a direct continuation of extensive grassroots consultations he had previously conducted across Umuchieze, Isuochi, and Nneato.
“Faces I met during our earlier consultations appeared again—hands extended in greeting, old friendships renewed, and new alliances forged,” Bourdex remarked. “When leadership connects authentically with the people, political momentum becomes unstoppable.”
Following the campaign rally, the entourage was hosted by the prominent Ibe brothers, providing a backdrop for campaign leaders, lawmakers, and political strategists to consolidate the gains of the outing over local hospitality and camaraderie.
Reflecting on the successful outing, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex extended appreciation to Governor Alex Otti, Deputy Governor Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, FNSE, party leaders, security agencies, and the people of Umunneochi for demonstrating political unity.
“Some days are counted by the hours they consume; others are remembered by the indelible impressions they leave upon the heart,” Bourdex stated. “The speeches have ended and the convoys have returned, but the momentum, the handshakes, the cheers, and the unity built in Umunneochi will echo all the way to 2027!”
