Former Nigeria’s Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the February 16 general election, Alhji Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the claims by the controversial leader of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu that he (Atiku) is from Cameroon and not Nigeria as many feel.
Nnamdi Kanu had in his broadcast, Saturday alleged that Atiku is not a Nigerian as he has always claimed.
“Do you know that Atiku Abubakar is from Cameroon? His area of Adamawa was in Cameroon,” Nnamdi Kanu was quoted.
However, speaking in a chat with the press, Atiku said the onus lies on Nnamdi Kanu to supply proof that he is an indigene of Cameroon.
Atiku who spoke through his media Aide, Paul Ibe had this to say.
“You media should ask him to supply the proof. It is not the man that is being accused that you will ask. It is the person who made the allegations that you will ask to bring his proof of where he (Atiku) is from or where he is not from”.
