Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu has felicitated the Obi of Onitsha, His Majesty, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Ugochukwu Achebe, CFR, on his 83rd birthday, describing him as an invaluable asset to the traditional institution in Nigeria.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Levinus Nwabughiogu, Kalu expressed gratitude to God for the longevity given to Igwe Achebe.
Noting that Igwe Achebe is among the highly revered traditional rulers in Nigeria, Kalu said that the first class monarch has contributed immensely to the peace and tranquility in the country especially in Igbo land.
He also described Igwe Achebe as a fine gentleman and father whose exceptional leadership and wise counsel have brought respect to the institution and greatly impacted the society.
The Deputy Speaker recalled with appreciation the noble role Igwe Achebe played during the unveiling of the Peace In South East Project (PISE-P), saying that his presence at the landmark event that held in Bende, Abia State on December 29, 2023 was a huge honour.
Praying to God for the blessing of many more years in good health, Kalu joined Igwe Achebe’s numerous friends in wishing the octogenarian a splendid birthday celebration.
