Member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has reacted strongly to his indefinite suspension by the Labour Party, declaring that the action holds no weight and does not affect his loyalty to Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.
Hon. Ogah, who was among six top party members suspended by the Labour Party on Tuesday for alleged anti-party activities, said he remains focused on his legislative duties and unshaken in his political conviction.
Reacting to the development, the federal lawmaker described the suspension as “a joke taken too far” and “a distraction sponsored by elements threatened by the new face of leadership in Abia State.”
“I want to make it clear — the so-called suspension means absolutely nothing to me. I am a mandate of the people and my commitment to Governor Alex Otti and his transformational agenda in Abia remains unshakable,” Ogah stated.
He went further to express confidence in the Governor’s leadership, adding that Otti has brought hope, accountability, and progress to Abians.
“Governor Alex Otti is the best thing that has happened to Abia State in decades. I am with him full time. Nobody can bully us out of this progressive movement. No amount of intimidation can stop the will of the people,” Ogah affirmed.
Political observers say the suspension could deepen internal divisions within the Labour Party, especially in Abia, where Governor Otti and Hon. Ogah enjoy widespread public support.
The lawmaker called on his supporters and constituents to remain calm and focused, assuring them that he will not be distracted from his mission of delivering effective representation to the people of Isuikwuato and Umunneochi.
The Labour Party had announced the suspension of Ogah alongside Governor Alex Otti, Senator Ireti Kingibe, Senator Darlington Nwokocha, Hon. Victor Afam Ogene, and Hon. Seyi Sowunmi, following recommendations from a disciplinary committee.
Despite the party’s position, Hon. Ogah insists his loyalty lies with the people who elected him and the leadership committed to real change.
