The Isuikwuato Youth Assembly Forum, the umbrella body of all progressive youths in Isuikwuato Local Government Area has risen from a consultative meeting held in Isuikwuato and unanimously rejected the 5th term ambition of Hon Nkeiruka Onyejeocha to return to the House of Representative for Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, pjtvnews gathered.
The group stated that, the decision was reached after a critical review of 16 years of Onyejeocha’s representation from 2007 to 2023.
The group therefore warned that, any attempt to foist a 5th term ambition on Isuikwuato through money politics or use federal might as former Minister will be vehemently resisted at the polls. The group further declared that, Isuikwuato is not a personal estate and cannot be owned by one individual.
“Umunneochi and Isuikwuato bled under insecurity while she was in power.”
“Onyejeocha’s 5th term bid is driven by personal ambition, not public interest. Isuikwuato is not her inheritance. We are not her political property.”
The group stressed that, the era of Abuja-based representation is over. We want a home-based Rep who lives with us, feels our pain, and attends our town halls. Not someone who visits only in December to share rice
After careful assessment, the Isuikwuato Youth Assembly Forum has resolved to back the second term of Hon Amobi Godwin Ogah who has shown more capacity in 3 years what the 16 years of Onyejeocha could not show.
Amobi Ogah has been more present in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi in 3 years than Onyejeocha was in 16 years. From roads intervention, to school projects, to free medical outreaches, to securing jobs for our youths – we have seen the difference. We need continuity, not return to Egypt. Isuikwuato/Umunneochi cannot go back to 16 years of stagnation. We must consolidate on the new energy Amobi Ogah has brought.
In conclusion, the group concluded that, the representation of Amobi Godwin Ogah has reached the constituency and affected the lives of the people more than what we experienced in 16years of Onyejeocha representation.
