Umuokogbuo Development Union (UDU) in diaspora has distributed about 330 bags of Rice, 330 tin tomatoes and 330 1kg of groundnut oil worth millions of naira to the people of Umuokogbuo Community in Isuikwuato LGA, Abia State, pjtvnews reports.
According to pjtvnews correspondent, the palliatives were distributed by Umuokogbuo sons and daughters of Okogbuo indigenes in diaspora to help in fighting and ameliorating the sufferings of their people during this economic rascality currently ravaging the country due to poor leadership decisions.
The group distributed these palliatives on the 25th of December, 2023 at Okogbuo Hall Complex with the leadership of the community.
In a media chat with the leadership of Umuokogbuo in Diaspora, Chief Ndubuisi Godwin Ochuba, Ms Nkechi Linda Osuji and Engr Chief Osinachi Nnabuko, they all opined that, because they understand the economic conditions of the country and the level of hardship their people based in the community are passing through, they have decided to come together as one big family to make this palliatives which has just been shared, distributed to all the men and women in the community with the help of the leadership of the men and women respectively.
The group also thanked everyone who responded to their calls when they were called upon for this project despite their slim short period notice given.
Speaking further, the group promises to do more for their community as they hope things will get better in the coming days.
The President General of Umuokogbuo Development Union, Mr Francis Chiweike Udeagu, together with his team of executives have thanked and appreciated their brothers and sisters in diaspora for their magnanimity and benevolence in making sure that their people down home lack nothing during this yuletide season.
