The political momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections in Abia State reached a new crescendo today in Uturu, Isuikwuato LGA, Saturday, October 31, 2026, as the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, officially inaugurated his comprehensive 2027 re-election campaign council.
The newly sworn-in council comprises directors, Local Government Area coordinators, and ward campaign structure members tasked with driving a formidable, grassroot-driven victory march.
Addressing the newly inaugurated council members, Hon. Amobi Ogah charged them to approach the task with absolute dedication, reminding them that working for his re-election is synonymous with working for their own collective progress and community development.
While emphasizing discipline and total party loyalty, the federal lawmaker issued a firm directive regarding the Labour Party’s unified ticket:
“If you are going to vote for me and refuse to vote for other Labour Party candidates—our governorship, senatorial, and state House of Assembly candidates—please leave my campaign team right now,” Ogah declared sternly. “We are going to deliver all Labour Party candidates 4/4 in 2027. My campaign team and all our supporters must support the Labour Party all the way.”
Turning his attention to the senatorial aspirations for Abia North, Hon. Ogah made a passionate and compelling case for the Labour Party senatorial candidate, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha Bourdex:
“In case you don’t know, this is Bourdex Hour. Let’s give Bourdex a chance so that he can prove himself. If I didn’t get a chance, would you have known that I would do better? If Governor Alex Otti didn’t get a chance, would we have been enjoying what we are enjoying today? Give Bourdex a chance.”
Reiterating the unstoppable wave of the Labour Party in the region, Ogah added, “What happened in the 2023 elections is small; in 2027, it will be a tsunami. The Labour Party will win everything.”
In their respective remarks, key party leaders rallied the troops for the electoral battle ahead. The Isuikwuato LGA Labour Party Campaign Coordinator, Hon. Emmanuel Okorokwo; the Isuikwuato LGA Party Chairman, Hon. Harrison Onuke; and the Umunneochi LGA Party Chairman, Dr. Jude Uche Onwuhanze, all charged the newly inaugurated council members to leave no stone unturned in ensuring a resounding victory for Hon. Amobi Ogah and the entire Labour Party slate.
Responding on behalf of the council, the Deputy Chairman of the Campaign Council, Sir Billy Achara, expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Amobi Ogah for the confidence reposed in the team. He assured the lawmaker of their unflinching loyalty, promising that the council will take the campaign directly to the grassroots—adopting a door-to-door, house-to-house strategy to guarantee a hitch-free and landslide victory.
The epoch-making event was graced by several heavyweights and dignitaries, notably the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson; his Umunneochi counterpart, Hon. Mathias Nwankwo Ume; alongside top party executives, community leaders, and youth vanguards from across the federal constituency.
